UNIVERSAL BIO-THERMO POCKET-READER EX

The Digital Angel Company has answered the call of the Camelid community to develop a true universal reader. The Universal Pocket-Reader EX is the complete reader that should resolve the long time problem of product incompatibility. It is a compact, easy to use, battery powered radio frequency device that reads and identifies all electronic microchips. It is universal in that it is programmed to record the microchip numbers of all chips used in the Camelid community-past, present and future-including all Destron chips (125 and ISO 134.2 mHz), Home Again, AVID (encrypted and non-encrypted), Trovan, Datamar, Atmel, and all ISO compliant RFID microchips. In addition it will record the temperature reading when using the new Destron Fearing Biothermal LifeChip. This product is a rugged, low-cost reader that is ideal for low-volume manual scanning. All operation of the Pocket-Reader EX is performed with one simple function button.

SMART™: (Standard Memory and Re-Programmable Technology)

The scanners incorporate an integrated circuit which allows them to be re-programmed. Through the use of SMART software, the scanners have the flexibility to read current and future microchip technologies in 13 different languages. This innovative software technology allows the scanners to read the codes of all implantable microchips as required by specific markets throughout the world. The Universal BioThermo Pocket EX Reader is programmed to read all microchips available in the USA; past, present and future (all Destron products-both 125 and ISO 134 mHz, all AVID products-both encrypted and non-encrypted, Home Again, Trovan, Datamar and Atmel products. In addition it will read the Biothermal LifeChip from Destron Fearing Company).
Automatic channel searching: The Pocket Reader line of products automatically searches for the presence of other manufacturers’ microchips, locking in on the specific channel and reading the microchip.
RF Surround: The scanner’s antenna is designed to surround the microchip in a high intensity magnetic field. This optimizes reading performance with the microchip in any orientation.
RS 232 Compatible: Interface with Serial Interface Link or Smart™ Kit allows the user to send ID codes directly from the scanner to a computer.
Battery powered: The scanners operate on four universally available AA alkaline batteries.
Automatic shut off: The scanners are programmed to automatically shut off when the power level of the batteries is not sufficient enough to read chips.
Low cost: The scanners are priced to be affordable for any size market.
Ergonomic: The lightweight scanners are designed to fit easily into the hand of male or female operators to allow for effortless operation with the right or left hand.
The Pocket Reader EX scanners incorporate all the standard Pocket Reader features with the following additions: Larger antenna size: The antenna has a larger surface area designed to give greater read range, surface area coverage and speed.
DC power port: The DC power port used with an optional AC/DC power adapter allows the reader to plug into a standard wall outlet for continuous use.

Warranty

The Pocket Reader scanner is warranted against defects in materials and workmanship, under normal use and service, for one (1) year from the date of shipment. This warranty will not apply if adjustments, repair or parts replacement is required because of accident, neglect, damage during transportation, or causes other than ordinary use. Destron * Fearing Corporation's sole responsibility under this warranty shall be, at its option, to either repair or replace any product which fails during the warranty period. In no event shall Destron*Fearing Corporation be liable for any indirect or consequential damages or loss of profit.
